Senior Speech

As I was writing this speech , it took me down memory lane where old memories started flowing in my mind . My recollection of past events in my life such as the first day at the freshman retreat and cross country trips showed me how I have grown throughout the years . These experiences made me realize that there was nothing to fear and I talk in front of you , narrating the story of my life of how Christopher Dock High school

br had molded me to become the man I am now . Because of my fascination in aviation particularly with planes , Mrs . Rauch made an analogy of how a student 's high school life is like a plane taking off . In the freshman year , it is the securing stage wherein you are buckled up in your seat while in the sophomore year , it illustrates coming out of the terminal The junior year represents the time of waiting for a taxi while the senior year is the time when you are speeding down the runway getting ready to takeoff

As I reflected on these memories , I remembered what I was like before I came to Christopher Dock High school . When I was still with Gwynedd Mercy Academy ,I used to have this mentality common to most eight graders that we should change our personality according to the preference of others in to fit in . I felt that I was part of a machine in which everything was dictated . Also , I have noticed that certain people had to act a certain way according to their race , class and religion that resulted to stereotyping and discrimination . It even reached to a point where I became so confused and felt that the world was this huge space that I could never grasp and comprehend . But when I transferred to Christopher Dock High School , I immediately recognized the difference compared to my previous school . It was different in the sense that the campus was beautiful and the teachers put a lot of effort in teaching their students . My first day Christopher Dock High School was really an enjoyable experience

On my third day at Christopher Dock High School , the whole freshman class went on a freshman retreat . We went on an overnight trip at Camp Menoland . This retreat was intended to help foster friendships and get acquainted with our fellow students . One good thing that this experience brought was that I gained a couple of friends . But the most memorable experience from the freshman retreat actually happened after the event I tremendously enjoyed the our trip back home , when I had the chance to change into my cross country uniform for my first cross country meet

Two weeks before school started , many sports were in there pre-season During this period , I have decided to sign up for cross country with no idea at all of what is in store for me in this sport . I have...
