Ecosystem
All parts of an ecosystem , including plants , animals , fungi , etc , are interdependent upon each other . The neglect , change , or destruction of any single aspect of the ecosystem will necessarily affect every other aspect . Thus , an increase of the deer population and decrease of large predator populations can have a serious impact on the plant growth in the area . Plants that are safe and proper for deer and other animal consumption will grow scarce from the increased number of deer eating them , which can create serious problems for the entire ecosystem in turn

. Plants will naturally grow and spread as far as they have room to and the relative disappearance of edible plants can mean more room for poisonous plants , fungi , etc . These kinds of plants can pose health dangers to animals , particularly if ingested because an animal is starving from lack of proper food sources . It is also possible that plant diseases can be more easily spread by the elimination , and that otherwise healthy specimens of edible plants may be affected , serving to further diminish food sources , and affecting habitat for smaller animals that may live in trees or depend upon the forest undergrowth for protection from the elements or predators
The scarcity of plants for food due to the overpopulation of deer will also diminish populations of smaller plant-eating animals , like mice and rabbits . This , in turn , will cause decreases in the populations of small predators (i .e , foxes and owls . All of the competition for food among the...
