2004 film Super Size Me produced a lot of self-realization . Filmmaker Morgan Spurlock was obscenely sincere about the reasons behind America 's deadly statistics . Living on McDonalds ' diet for a month he was able to at least , make us think about what exactly we place in our mouth . And yet , to explore the reasons behind two out three people getting overweight in America , we should look a bit deeper : the causes behind eating so much food , the causes behind lining in drive throughs of McDonalds , KFCs , Burger Kings and like establishments . What is it that propels us to swing by the drive through instead of cooking a healthy meal at home ? With full understanding of what we are doing we still cannot stop ourselves buying cheeseburgers , hamburgers , fries , fried chicken and other types of fast food
In today 's society , life is set up in such a way that an average person recognizes a very important priority of making more money to consume more products . If making money is the prime objective the person 's day is occupied by the job that he or she does not really like . Most jobs are specialized , dead-end , no purpose routines , that the person must do day in and day out . The same routine without the purpose causes stagnation that necessarily leads to unhappy , dreary disposition toward environment . The only light at the end of the tunnel ' that the person experiences is the entertainment and the convenience of it . The external pressure (i .e . kids ' demands , TV commercials , lack of time ) influences the decision that was already half-influenced . Convenience and time-saving are the major players in his or her decision . The realization for no need to extend an effort to do shopping , to prepare for cooking , and certainly to cook wins rationalization of the fact that such diet ' is not good for him /her or the family members . The affordable cost of fast food meals and the size of those contribute to the problem . Major player in this vicious circle is the convenience and the speed with which everything is done : the husband brings a bucket of KFC home and for a moment he is a here , he is in the center of attention . Trans fatty acids become a norm with the specific taste becoming addictive . Now , the meal without trans fats taste dull something is missing . And...
