The discusses the Earth ' Water Cycle and its impacts on the Planet over the geological time [Name of Instructor] [Subject] [Date] Water Cycle and Its Impact on the Planet over the Geological Time Introduction Water is the foundation of life on Earth and where ever life will possibly prevail in the universe water will be its core element . Water is found on Earth in different forms . It is found in the form of

ice on the poles and glaciers on the contrary it is found in the form of clouds while the major portion of water is stored in the form of oceans and seas . Water is found as streams , rivers , lakes on the surface of the earth while some streams and vessels flow beneath the surface which are unearthed as tube wells and wells etc . The term Water Cycle can be described as the existence of Water through out the planet whether it is inside the planet , above the planet or on the planet , thus water cycle ' is depicted as the movement , flow and course of water in different directions and different forms over the entire planet . Water is constantly under flow and is moving according to the rules set by nature through over the geological time for billions of years and the entire planet depends on this process wholly because the absence of it will make earth a completely inhabitable , lifeless and hostile place for life . This will discuss the Hydrologic Cycle of the planet in detail as well as its impacts on the planet over the Geological Time
Water or Hydrologic Cycle
The emergence and origin of water has several hypotheses or more likely to say there are several factors which provide the chances and conditions which poured water into the ocean 's basins with such abundance . According to the hypothesis oceans were formed 4 .6 billion years ago and they were either formed by the cooling down of earth and hot gases which later liquefied and chemically reacted with each other forming several organic compounds or by the bombardment of asteroids comets which were rich in water mostly in the form of ice and other organic compounds which later contributed in the formation of water on the planet . Another theory suggests that water is being poured into the oceans by the massive rains and sandstorms . What ever were the causes of the origin and emergence of water it is now widely accepted that water was present on the planet before any existence of life on it and first emergence of any life form on Earth was approximately 3 .5 billion years ago . Thus we can say that hydrologic cycle began on the planet before 3 .5 billion years ago
Storage and Distribution
Though a very large amount of water is practically involved in the water cycle but it is a very small portion of water which...
