The article aims on enhancing the knowledge of the people about the goal of the teaching and learning process and educational system , which his to educate students to be more responsible , healthy , socially skilled and productive , knowledgeable and responsible . The article gives emphasis on identifying how the aim of educational system can be achieved through school-based prevention and

In this article the authors have found out that these programs are restricted because of lack of coordination with other aspects of school and educational operation and in ability to consider implementation and evaluation elements essential for strong program sustainability and impact (Greenberg et al , 2003 . This article evaluates evidence supporting comprehensive SEL-based prevention programming . The article also give emphasis in positive youth development , mental health , substance use and antisocial behavior school non-attendance and drug use . In addition , the authors of this article also give attention to academic performance and learning . They also study the aspect s o of Evidence-Based Model Programs in the Context of Schoolwide and Districtwide Practice : Challenges and Opportunities . Different studies and reviews have been conducted to find the significant effect of coordinated social , emotional and academic learning with school-based prevention and youth development programs In this article , the authors has been able to review a wide range of empirical evidences which shows that school-based prevention and youth development intervention are most advantageous if the students have enhanced personal and social conditions and when the students are in a quality environment like what has been reported in the study of Cook 2000 . In this article , one of the studies they assessed was a study conducted by Catalano and colleagues (2002 ) they started with a database of 161 positive youth development approaches and designated 25 programs as efficient . Such program give emphasis on 15 youth development or SEL which include resilience , bonding , social , behavioral , cognitive emotional , and others . The study concluded that promotion and prevention approaches that address positive youth development are creating differences in well-assessed studies
