He becomes the king , people love him and everything is good but all in all there is no escaping from the fate - everything happens as the oracle has predicted . When the true begins to reveal , Oedipus is not afraid , he wants to know the truth at all costs . It takes him a real courage to know the truth because he can predict what kind of truth it can be but he is ready to accept the hurt and answer for the consequences . That is why Oedipus is a tragic hero , his life is so mysterious and unusual that the readers are fond of it , they wait what the main hero will do next and he always takes the right decision and that is why readers respect him

Don Quixote is also a tragic hero at a point because he is alien in his society , nobody understands him , he is a lonely knight in this cruel to him world . He wants to look sublime , honorable and brave but people just laugh and make jokes at him . A bright example is a scene near the mill This knight in his armor who speaks in inflated style is ridiculous The incomprehensible language and the unpromising looks of our cavalier only increased the ladies ' laughter , and that increased his irritation , and matters might have gone farther if at that moment the landlord had not come out , who , being a very fat man , was a very peaceful one (Cervantes 5 .
