The term diversity has become a bit of a catch-phrase and as such has been to a variety of social arenas such as education employment , and training . There is certainly nothing wrong with these attachments , but once diversity becomes linked to a particular arena , it takes on the status of an adjective - merely modifying the environment as opposed to functioning as the active verb it is meant to be Basically , diversity is the active and repetitive attempt

The advantages of diverse inclusion in all aspects of society allows for a multitude of perspectives from different races , ethnicities genders , cultures , social classes , and lifestyles ( What is Diversity . The old adage that two minds are better than one is here multiplied not just by the number of thinkers , but the individuality of thought , so no matter what the situation , the outcome has a greater chance for success . A classroom that is diverse allows for more wide-ranging discussion a workplace that is diverse allows for increased productivity a training environment that is diverse allows for improved performance

The world is becoming more globalized , and as a result , the more each person can learn

about those unlike himself , the better able he will be to operate participate , and perform in his

endeavors . In addition , competitive arenas , like businesses , have learned that diversity is an

integral part of workplace performance . The smart business will [Focus] on an environment

that maximizes the potential of all employees by valuing diversity interpersonally and

institutionally ( What is Diversity . This same principle can be applied to education , training

sports , and society in general : the successes and failures in each of these areas is certainly

dependent on finding just the right person for the task , and diverse inclusion in the search will

assure the best outcome for all involved
