Diversity in America Diversity is important to America because it is this very diversity in culture , ethnicity and skills that giv e it the strength that it presently has as a nation

America is unique among all nations on account of the plurality and diversity of peopl es and cultures that constitutes it as a country Even before it gained independence from Great Britain the different ethnic origins of people arrived at its shores to settle permanently . According to the US History Encyclopedia in Ask .com , the motto on its Great Seal , E Pluribus Unum (out of many , one ) emblematize the diversit y of the American people At prese nt probably every country on earth has a former citizen that has become a naturalized American on account of the multitude of people that comprise the entire American population

The divers ity of peoples and cultures gives strength to America because as peoples co ming from different cultures get assimilated into the American society , these peoples usually adopt American culture and mores This is to facilitate their integr ation into American society The ne ed to conform to American values and norms eventually forces them to seek the ide als of natural-born Americans such that no cultural clash happens Yet , even as they get assimilated into American society , they still retain a number of their cultural traits that they consider to be better than some aspects of American culture For example , the closely knit fami ly of Asian Americans is one of the factors that help Asian children to study harder Far from being disrup tive to American society , foreign cultures that get assimilated into American society tend to enrich the tapestry of American culture Inasmuch as it is often the best a spect of the culture of a foreign people that is preserved , America therefore is strengthened culturally as it stands to gain much from the wis dom of other nations

It is also a fact that among all other countries , America offers advanced training and education to people of other countries through government-funded as well as privately funded fellowships and grants Often , the very people who come to America for advanced studies and training are the cream of the crop of the other less-advanced countries As it often happens too , the best and the brightest from these countries oftentim es opt to stay in America for good since they eventually realize that the...
