Ethical Egoism : Ethical egoism and Utilitarianism are both pertaining to happiness as the definition of moral values . However , they differ from the reasons as to whom this happiness should be given to . In ethical egoism , happiness if fulfilled through satisfying ones desire In extension to this , the happines of one person is enough to determine moral values . In Utilitarianism , the goodness of an individual must be utilize for the welfare of all . And in

this case , a large group of people were able to attain happines . Therefore , in Ethical egoism , tha happiness and satisdactiono f ones desire is important while in Utilitarianism , the happines of the society as a whole . However , there will come a time when the own rules of Ethical Egoism would backfire to itself . Let 's say if a person is trying to abide by his /her desires and at the same time would cause harm to other people , then the rules are unkept . It is possible to make choices that will benefit others , as long as the individual 's desire is still there , but not the other way around . 2 .
