a suitable job second , on the part of the government 's side , it reduces the costs of welfare benefits such as the early retirement pensions , as well as gives the government a higher tax revenues . This is due to the fact that when older people continue learning , they also keep on working
Learning also increased social profits in terms of civic participation and community involvement of older people . Aside from these , it also improve the health of elderly people , because learning keep older people active which is necessary to reduce the risk of Alzheimer 's disease that is common to older people
However , there seems to be a problem in older people 's participation in lifelong activities . Usually people lack the time for learning due to family commitment , or they may still be presently employed lack of available learning arrangement due to place of residency individual learning attitudes and lack of financial support and transport hindrance
