The concepts of environmental sustainability and sustainable development are closely related in the economic efficiency view of resources . By its definition , environmental sustainability implies the ability with which the best qualities are maintained whose valuation is high within the frontiers of physical environment . Environmental sustainability therefore encapsulates a broad phenomenon of variables which include the human life , capability with which the most adequate conditions for maintaining human life and other plant and animal species is provided

This implies that , the capacity of the current development cannot even meet the requirements of the basic human needs at the current time frame .
