Leadership is a word that comes with great responsibilities . Like what Donald H . McGannon once said that leadership is an action not a position . The statement emphasizes that being a leader does not only mean that you are physically present , but also you should know how to guide and work with others especially those whom you dominate . As a successful leader you are required to have characteristics like being intelligent , disciplined , courageous , self sufficient , confident , have good communication abilities and curiosity to find potential chances on others

p In my experience of leading others my leading capabilities were demonstrated during my University years . First was when I was in my first year , two of my classmates from the same department and I choose Chinese course and in that class our professor asked us to establish a presentation using our creative way of exhibiting it . Teams were composed of ten people including those that came from different departments

In our group , my members thought of composing a narrative poem as our presentation . They thought of making the poem into a song . The idea was fine however not all of us agreed that it was a fascinating way of presenting it . They also said that singing would not attract the attention of our classmates towards the essence of the poem . Therefore my classmates and I volunteered to be accountable for doing our presentation and we thought of performing it by doing a play . We assigned our other classmates to write down the script and others to perform the play . All of us shared distinctive ideas and combined them to make our presentation exquisite . For instance our idea for our lead roles was we let the actors imitate the way those famous people in Taiwan speak to create a realistic act . Also we use different stage effects to show some unstated actions like when we used shields to produce an illusion of a couple kissing behind that shield when actually they 're not really kissing at all . Furthermore we also used comic actions to make the play frivolous and entertaining . Our audiences were d on what we performed and got a handful of applause . My classmates appreciated the efforts and ideas of my group members and I This was my first time to direct a play and we never thought that it would be a success . From here I realized that it was a good chance of showing my classmates ' potentials as well as mine

Another incident where my leadership was tested was when I was in fourth year . At that time I have six best friends in school and most of our time was spent doing things with each other . Because it was my last year in school I thought of leaving something memorable to the school Coincidentally there was also a singing contest going on in our department .
