There are four foreign policies that are held by Franklin D . Roosevelt during his time that made their corresponding impact on the WWI . These four foreign policies are fondly termed as a ) The Big Stick ' b Alaskan Boundary Dispute ' c ) Roosevelt Corollary ' and d Panama Canal ( Theodore Roosevelt ' 2006

Under his notion of the big stick ' it is considered that Roosevelt can be seen as

belonging to the group of imperialists ( Theodore Roosevelt ' 2006 . Under the practice of imperialism , it is considered that the powerful individuals or nations act towards establishing and maintaining their control over the weaker people and nations as they perceive it (Mastanduno , 2006 . This is evident as he pursued the policy made by Willima Howard Taft with regard to the abnegation of the Filipino nationalists but made a point to provide for assistance and strengthen the relations in terms of trade ( Theodore Roosevelt 2006

Moreover , there is also the issue in relation to the boundaries between Alaska and Canada where he first intended to express his desire for the use of military force ( Theodore Roosevelt ' 2006 . However , he decided against this and instead played on to take the path of arbitration instead of coercion ( Theodore Roosevelt ' 2006
