Describe the American war aims during the Revolutionary War
Occurring in the latter half of the 18th century , the American Revolution was the event that allowed the Thirteen (13 ) Colonies to become the United States of America . This was also the event that finally granted these colonies the independence that they desired from the British Empire . The American War of Independence or Revolutionary War that ensued from 1775 to 1783 was largely radical in nature because of the fact that it was the first instance that a colony had tried and succeeded to gain independence from the British Empire One of

the major reasons why the American Revolution started was because of the fact that the British were not including the Americans in the decisions that were being taken for the taxation proceeds from the citizens the Americans who felt that they were not being asked to participate in important decisions . The seeds for revolt were planted by the resentment at the non-inclusion at the decision making process given the fact that the Americans felt that they made significant contributions to the coffers of the British . At this point in time , the American colonies lacked any form of representation in the governing British Parliament . As such , many of the colonists felt that these new series of tax laws were illegitimate and therefore refused to honor them
