Many views the United States as a democratic country but still , many asks if US is indeed running its country in such a way that a democratic country ought to . In to answer the question of whether US is indeed running its country on democracy or if it is an undemocratic country hiding behind the fazade of democracy , one must first have a clear notion of what democracy is like

Democracy came from the Greek word demos and kratos . Demos mean people and kratos means rule , thus

democracy is said to be a kind of government ruled by its own people . The United States value freedom more than anything else in this world and it is primarily the main reason why they have adhered to a form of government called democracy . However , there are groups of people who argue that the United States is not really a democratic government .
