To Whom It May Concern

The process of writing this short was a free-flow of thoughts onto the blank slate of the word processing page . Having read the book in the past , as well as having viewed the movie , gave an insight into what I would take as a main thought when writing . The contradictory view of events presented by Tom Wolfe is an unlimited conversation provocation Gatherings of friends can discuss at length the opposition to the opinions , or the support of the renegade style of Chuck Yeager

p The assignment itself came as a relief , being centered on such a familiar subject . Having an uncle who spent 22 years stationed at Edwards Air Force Base gives a unique view into the world of the Air Force politics and expectations of the military members as well as the wives and families

While researching the information , and considering this essay , I thought back to my childhood , and the multiple times that my aunt and cousins came to stay with us rather than sit on the military base in the perpetual wait ' mode to hear news . We served as distraction for them while my uncle was in training , and while he was just on duty with no information flowing to the families . Those `secretive ' times were the worst , and the country seems to have no idea of the far-reaching effects of the men and women who choose to serve our military
