Managers are required to be more careful and more attentive , while observing the work attitudes of subordinates or colleagues . The first and foremost requirement in an attitude is good manners which is a pre-requisite for any job . According to Mindtools research , good manners is the most essential aspect in an office . There are two-pronged approaches suggested by Mindtools to cast-out rude behavior . The first is to encourage good manners and the second is to stamp out rude manners

. Good manners carries an attitude and anything beyond good manners is rude behavior and need not be considered at all

What anecdotal evidence from your own work history can your share that would support the importance of work attitudes

Reporting as a Secretary to Area Manager , in a company , the job carried shorthand dictations , typing , filing and attending to customers . The Area Manager did not have any complaints about work and behavior pattern in the office . There was perfect coordination and cooperation in work area and there were no instances of verbal firing and this was due to carrying a positive attitude and work mind within the premises of offices

Being a workaholic , head of the family , encourages every member in the family to be disciplined and systematic . Further , no member in the family would be lethargic or procrastinating any activity that should be performed in a day
