Reasoning is the fundamental of critical thinking . Critical thinking involves gathering information based from observations , comprehending every bit of these information , coming out of concepts , examining and seeing it from different perspectives , analyzing and applying it Critical thinking provides a wide variety of benefits . With critical thinking , one can see beyond what is visible like relevance , feasibility and accuracy

How can critical thinking be applied in decision making ? First , the purpose must be

defined . When the purpose is clear , different suggestions to resolve the dilemma will arise . We apply critical thinking in to evaluate these suggestions by taking into consideration the cost , for example , of these suggested solutions and how feasible is it . Let us say that we wish to invest in a business and we only have a low capital . For this , factors that can be considered are the length of time required to complete the investment and start with the business , the difficulty , and the outcome which will matter most . From these we can be able discern our options . If the suggested solutions may not seem effective , we can find alternatives or a different pathway . With critical thinking , we can never come out empty We can always find ways . We should also consider the relevance of such a decision . If we would benefit us , then , it is a good decision Otherwise , we should discount the idea of making that decision

What happens when making a decision without applying critical thinking Then we would realize later that we made a bad decision . For example , we could have minimized the expenses and the utilized energy and time rather than spend much and do more work . Or we can end up with a realization that we have not really resolved anything with all those efforts that we 've done . Critical thinking leads us to a good conclusion and a sound decision so it would be wise to take time to think over the whole situation before we get to act on it
