There is a variety of museums , restaurants , shops and attractions right outside the center and adjoining hotels . The beautiful features have attracted a lot of tourists in the small area . Despite of all these god sceneries a number of things have also happened in the area bringing about criticisms . Just the year 2005 , a serious tragedy happened about the collapse of the Boston

tunnel , which was associated with some ethical issues . Apart from the Boston tunnel there is also another path in the area called the Boston freedom trail leading people to beautiful historical sites
The freedom trail is a four kilometer long path through downtown Boston that passes sixteen of the city 's historic /and mark (Heatler , 2004 . The freedom trail starts at the Boston common which basically was an area where the British forces were encamped during the occupation from 1775 to 1776 . The freedom trail moves through Massachusetts 's state House which is the center of states governance . From the state house the path moves to the park street church . This church was from history participated in political , social and humanitarian issues . It is in this church where William Lloyd gave a speech while standing on the pulpit condemning slavery . This was a landmark in the area as William was the first man to come out publicly condemning slavery . From the park street church the freedom trail that is the red line passes through the old Granary Burial Ground which is just right next to the park street chord The old Granary was named after the granary that stood on the site of the church . Some of the Boston 's most revolutionaries were buried on this ground . The most remembered ones are Paul Revere , John Hancock Samuel Admas , Robert Treat Paine and other victims of the Boston massacre . These people fought for independence by signing the declaration of independence . From the old granary the next stop is the king 's Chapel and Burying Ground then to the first public school . From the school the routes moves to old corner Book store building to the old south meeting house which was used by patriots who encouraged crowds to revolt against British taxation . One of the resolutions from one of the meetings was the formation of Boston Tea party , which sparked the revolutionary war
From the meeting house the path moves along the old state house to Boston massacre site where the British troops opened fire on colonists who had been tauting them , throwing rocks and hurling insults . During the massacre five people were killed leading to the rise of American Revolution . From the Boston massacre the freedom trail passes through the Faneuil Hall , a building known as the cradle of liberty .
