There are actually various types of freedom . These would include civil rights and civil liberties , freedom of assembly , freedom of religion freedom of speech , freedom of expression , freedom of the press , and so and so forth

Civil rights and civil liberties are concepts that are political and social in nature . The term civil rights is usually being used to denote that the state , as an entity , plays a significant role in ensuring that all citizens are provided equal protection and opportunities in the exercise privileges of citizenship and other privileges of even nature Civil liberty , on the other hand , is a political and social concept that guarantees other forms of freedom such as freedom of expression , speech and the like

Freedom of assembly would refer to that right of the people to gather together peaceably while freedom of religion is defined as the right of person to express oneself according to his religious beliefs

However , for the purpose this the terms freedom of expression , freedom of speech , and freedom of the press ' are the only forms of freedom , which will be given focus . This is so because these terms are actually the terms which we usually encounter especially in dealing with issues that concerns the observance of human rights as well as in the creation and establishment of laws and public policies that gears towards the attainment of better economic , political , and human development in every country

Freedom of expression or freedom of speech , as defined by various lexicons , would refer to the right of each and every individual to express one 's opinion in accordance with his or her belief and conscience . However , it does not include those expressions that may precipitate actions that would cater and or constitute libel , slander obscenity , sedition , or criminal conduct such as bribery , perjury or incitement to riot . This may be in oral or written format

Freedom of the press , on the other hand , is closely associated with the above-mentioned terms . This is so because freedom of the press is actually similar to freedom of speech , however , it stipulates the provision for the use of tri-media to wit : newss , books , magazines and other forms or medium of communication of even nature
