Critical Thinking

There are different meanings of what is critical thinking is but in general , it is the way to understand and remove many assumptions and stereotypes in different forms of communication . It can also be seen as an effective way to communicate in a natural manner using it as a method to improve our skills in responding to the arguments and opinions of others . Critical thinking can be a form of expressing ones ideas and arguments without offending or insulting the points of others . The main purpose of critical thinking is to be able

to question any situation or any written argument in to generate ideas and solutions

For instance , critical thinking is applied to everyday events surrounding us whether we want to see it or not . An example is the situation with governmental funding and where does your tax dollars headed ? Who is getting your tax dollars and is it being well spent This are all questions that have been critical thought after . Do companies really care about the consumer or the stockholders ? These are all issues that many critically think about and have come out with different assumptions . Many argue that we should trust those individuals acting on our behalf , but in reality can we be that blind , good leaders and teachers have question everything in to achieve new ideas and innovations

From a personal perspective , when I was attending a conference for the United Nations in Atlanta , Georgia , I was in the delegation representing for the Palestinian territories and we had to deal with the Israeli delegation and although , many time we were in positions where we strongly disagree at the end of the day we had a goal in mind , which was to continue to work on the peace process . We wanted a solution that would be best for both parties we had to critically think on all the options and also the consequences of the choices being made . In the end we reached that we needed the cooperation of other countries and promote peace and eliminate a lot of the anti Semitism being hosted by both parties

During the conference both delegations with those representing Jordan Egypt , Lebanon , and Syria had plenty to again and at stake if the process between the Israelis and the Palestinians were not resolve causing for the spread of political instability and a rise in terrorism from terrorist organizations . Decision-making could be easy if it were not for the influences of other major players like the United States and the European Union . So from a personal perspective , it makes you question , why hasn 't this situation been solve and whose interest is it really serving

Those who are considered to be good critical thinkers tend to be more professional when conducting business , less offensive towards the emotions of others , gain greater understanding on their own view points but analyzing the information , make a good judgment regarding their decision , and the ability to come out with positive outcomes instead on...
