Question 1 Are men are victims of domestic violence too ? To what extent are they and why do you think we do not hear much about it Men just like women can also be victims of domestic abuse . This can range from either physical violence such as hitting or throwing objects or even psychological abuse in the form of continuous insults direct at the supposed inadequacies on the man in question . Recent studies have shown that at least 19 of domestic abuse cases are of men being the victims however most cases

of male abuse go unreported and sometimes people can 't even conceive of the concept of a man being the victim (Hines 2007 . This is due to the fact that most men are too embarrassed to report that they are the victims of spousal abuse not only that but as some surveys have shown of abused male victims they state that one of the reasons why they don 't report their cases is because who would believe them ? In cases of domestic abuse it is usually women who are the victims . To openly admit they are being abused by their wives is for most abused men a blow against their pride and in their eyes an admittance of being less than men (Hines 2007 . Not only that but few resources are devoted to address domestic violence against men due to the current mainstream concentration on abused women
