Criminal Justice
Criminal Justice Regarding cultivating social discipline in relation to the field of law enforcement , the Hot Stove Rule ' manifests a significant relevance for this concern . The hot stove rule is mainly a disciplinary approach that focuses more on the action concerned with the issue rather than the person involve . As an explanation , consider the practical reaction of a person who touches a hot stove , the effect which is the burn is a preconditioned consequence with no doubt about its likeliness . Before even the event occurs , an advance warning was given because of

the known and consistent fact that the effect of the action is burn . Still , the result is impersonal as the effect is similar to whoever does the said action and that the effect is caused by the action of touch and not by the person or by any factor caused by the presence of that person Because of this , discipline should be directed at the act and not on the person as the action is the one that causes the effect
Similar on the case of law enforcement , social discipline should be focused on the issue involved and not on the person or people involved in the matter . In applying the hot stove rule , warning should be given regarding the laws and rules and the consequences they have Implementing the consequences must be consistent whereas everyone gets the same treatment regardless of their personal factors . In implementing the penalty , the approach must be impersonal and must be immediate as early dialogue was already given making it a precondition to the situation . In this application of the law enforcement aspect , rules and their accompanied penalties must be implemented consistently to encourage discipline and not bias and other negative views . Relating to the first example , discipline towards the act of touching the stove should be impersonal and immediate to encourage obedience towards the given warning . In actual law enforcement , the implementation of the penalties for the acts of disobeying the rules communicated should be immediate to establish that disobedience towards the rule has a consistent and impending penalty whereas , following the rules given would result to positive things such as peace and in the society
