Politics by definition may be said to be a social kind of relationship which consists some mandate or authority in it . Crime controls on the other hand are the various measures and strategies put in place to limit or put in control various acts of crime in the society . According to the Crime Control model , reduction and eventual elimination of crime in the society is the main goal and objective of a criminal justice system . Failure to keep criminal acts in control will result to breach of peace in the society and consequently , lack of and moral uprightness in the society

It is for this reason that a criminal justice system is extremely important as it ensures that criminals are identified , arrested and a proportionate punishment awarded to them . The main emphasis that this model stresses on therefore is that for a criminal justice system to be adequately effective , it must be adequately speedy to ensure that criminal conduct is kept in control

Personal rights are always considered secondary in the realization of justice so that every criminal justice system must always have its main focus on bringing all criminals to books . The due process is a direct opposite of the crime control model where the major concern is to ensure that the due process of the law is followed in to realize justice Therefore , no presumption of guilt should be made until a person has been proven as such by the system

In conclusion , political affiliation can affect one 's position on crime control . As already mentioned , politics are social in nature politicians interact with the society most of the times . Consequently it means that they could contribute greatly to the reduction of crime as they are in a better position to caution the society against the vice
