The modern world of today is too fast and dangerous . The new technologies give us more advantages in everyday life . We can access much information by simply clicking a button . We can go the distances for a short time . The modern cars are very fast . However , if we look at this advantage at different angle , we 'll see that there are many perils about it . Every day we hear these reports about road accidents . It became so usual that we pay little attention to such messages . Our attitude changes dramatically

when it concerns us personally

Now I want to tell you the story of how my friend became a victim of a car accident . In fact , he was killed by our classmate . This happened one year ago . There were four of us , classmates , in the car . We were heading for the forest . In the forest we had sort of a party . Although the driver I not supposed t drink alcohol , our classmate did so . I told him not to do it but he drank many beers . From his point of view he was just sober . Besides , he pointed out the fact that he was a good driver who had never had any car accident before . We had much fun and stayed there late in the night

When it grew to dark and too late we started thinking about going back home . My classmate , who was driving the car , was rather drunk by that time . I worried about that trip much . I even proposed to spend the night in the forest but my classmates laughed and said they needed to be at home that night . My classmate who was driving laughed at me much . He saw that I was worried and said he would give a good ride . Usually he is a good driver . He drives fast but careful . But now after so many beers he was drunk and I had a serious reason to worry . People when they are drunk and want to show off (one of us was the girlfriend of my friend who was driving , they do some things that they usually do not

We all got in the car . The driver and his girlfriend sat in front . I and another classmate sat in the backseat . I must tell that I will never forget that night driving . We started like mad and then I was afraid we would just bump in some tree . I was afraid and I asked the driver not to go so fast . He only laughed and increased the speed . Everybody was a little scared but they made it a joke and laughed with the driver . I did not expect us to go out of the forest but we did . Now we were on the road and the road was good . That meant we could drive more fast . And we did . I thought we were flying . I asked again to go not so fast and again nobody listened to me . I saw there...
