``The Drive to Know : Where Did We Really Come From '
For ages and ages , the created has strived to come to grips
on the questions that continually seem to elude the answers that should
be the foundation of its existence .
How were we created ? How did we get here ? What actually happened and we
were created ?
The questions dwell on the theses that one , we were created
by God in six days , as in the account of the Scriptures in the Book of
Genesis chapter 1 , verse 1 and in verses 2 and 4 , which state :
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth .
2 Now the earth was [a] formless and empty , darkness was over the
surface of the deep , and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters .
3 And God said "Let there be light " and there was light .
The idea of one God creating us seems to astound an average reader to
the awesomeness of the event . According one source , the days that are
referred here are not literal days , but of long periods of time that
could explain the various stages of evolution in the history of the
world . That the idea of one God harps on the idea of those that espouse
the idea that there can be creation and it can happen without the
influence and imprimatur of the Almighty God .
Second , the belief that we are in control of our own existence smacks
against the belief that our existence lies in the hand of God .
But , in a stinging rebuke to the man Job which is also found in
Scripture , in the Book of Job , chapter 38 verses 4 to 9 :
4 "Where were you when I laid the earth 's foundation ? Tell me , if you
understand . 5 Who marked off its dimensions ? Surely you know ! Who
stretched a measuring line across it ? 6 On what were its footings set ,
or who laid its cornerstone-7 while the morning stars sang together and
all the angels [a] shouted for joy ? 8 "Who shut up the sea behind doors
when it burst forth from the womb , 9 when I made the clouds its garment
and wrapped it in thick darkness ,
II . CAN SCIENCE AND RELIGION EVER MAKE UP ?
According to the author Gorman Gary , in his book ``The Age of the
Universe : What are The Biblical Limitations (Morning Star
Publications , the solution seems to lie in the resolution in the
conflict arising from the imperfect interpretation of factual geology
and paleontology on the one hand , and imperfect interpretation of the
Bible on the other . Sadly , that unity is far fetched to happen , as both
want to establish that their line of reasoning is the only true and
logical case for creation .
Evolution , on the other hand , is pushing the idea that the created
beings are evolving into more advanced beings by adapting better modes
of survival than the ancestors , thus making it better to adapt to its
new surroundings .
But...
