Setting up an effective team is as challenging as managing one . A manager is required to understand the dynamics of a team to enable them make better choices when selecting team members . A well composed team will deliver the results for which it was formed . Managers need to evaluate a variety of qualities in the team members in to assemble a workable team . The simulation run in this course has exposed

me to the real challenges that face managers as they work with teams . The courses I have taken in class have deepened my insight into how to handle these cases . Below is how I handled the situations

The position of Assessor and Advisor was assigned to John . Marsh . A number of factors led to this choice . First , the tasks of the team required the team to come up with a new innovation that would help turn company 's profits . John had a wide experience in managing development of automobiles . This placed him at a better position to evaluate every proposal from an informed point of view . His job experience would keep him focused on the current task . His stubbornness required that the team members have better arguments in to push past him . This would motivate the team to come up with better ideas . John is focused which would enable him to keep the objectives of the team in focus

He is said to be fond of sharing his knowledge with others which is highly required for the team . In addition John has funny hobbies which make him approachable . He is not the kind of people who would dismiss other 's ideas and low standard ideas . John 's ability to help people grow adds to the reasons why I chose him . That John is a mentor means he is interested in people growing , and that he is more tolerant John 's ability to resolve conflicts is brought out by his other interests as a mentor . He better cultivates good relations with individual members compared with others

The position of the Creator required innovativeness on the part of the office holder . I assigned the office to Amrita . She matches her job largely because her experience backs her up . Amrita has diverse interests which further contribute to her creativity . She is not too firm to reject creativity ideas proposed by others . Amrita is enthused by the job of a designer , her loyalty in achieving the organization 's goal is unmatched . Her attitude towards her job is upbeat , and she seems to enjoy what she does by having things done differently . This role requires that a person be quick decision maker . Her experience shows she made some good decisions that fetched profits in other companies
