Corruption is a phenomenon usually related with bureaucracy or government as the directing body in a particular country . a certain authority to the identified leader . Leaders can have power because of their individual traits , positions they hold or a combination of both (Collins , 2001 . Accordingly , power can be very dangerous and the person holding it can be very influential . Its effectiveness however , depends on whether or not they are vested by the organization
A brighter side of power is the ability to gain influence over the employees for the very benefit of the organization , but there is a more devious side to it (Nahavandi , 2003 . Using such level of power without the accountability can lead to a more complex form of organizational cancer that would result in its decline . In many cases , this abuse of power includes excesses such as waste of financial means , fraud , or sexual harassment (Nahavandi , 2003 .
