Alternative Sources of Energy : From the Sun and Wind

When man began to use fossil fuel with efficiency , progress dawned upon the world . At that time - decades ago - oil and coal was thought to be cheap and virtually inexhaustible . Both s are no longer true today

In the oil crisis of the 1970s it was made clear to all that there is a limit with regards to the amount of fossil fuel that could ever be used With a growing global

population and the continuing insatiable thirst for energy , more and more oil fields are being depleted . Prices are soaring high while the stability of nations dependent on fossil fuel are being threatened simply because a country could not go on without power in the scientific sense of the word

Moreover , the problem with fossil fuel does not only end with regards to shortage of supply and high demand . Many had come to understand the impact of global warming and an environment threatened by pollutants coming from burning oil and coal . Thus , there is an alternative sources of energy

Two of the most promising areas where scientists , entrepreneurs , and the various related government agencies can look into is in solar and wind energy . Two sources of virtually inexhaustible supply of power with the added unbelievable feature of being clean sources of energy as well

This will look into the reasons why the United States must be develop alternative sources of energy and the benefit of using solar and wind as alternative sources of energy

Energy Crisis

There is no other way to emphasize the importance of energy in this country . Looking around at the various industries and businesses that are dependent on electrical power will easily convey the great need for a stable source of energy

Search for Stability

Stability is an issue because oil supply is dwindling . Even if new oil fields can be discovered in this century , the fact remains that there is a finite amount of fossil fuel buried underneath the earth 's soil

Once this supply ran out , disaster is merely a word that could not begin to describe the aftermath . But there is also another problem with regards to fossil fuel . It is an energy source whose potential can only be used by burning it . The combustion with oxygen releases the power stored in it and therefore it can now be used to power cars , factories and power plants

Pollution

But as many have known , burning fossil fuel produces byproducts that when mixed into the air is a serious source of pollution . So progress comes at a steep price . In to sustain the high standard of living brought about by advancements in technology through the use of machines and electrical equipment , man is forced to burn fuel . In effect , man is destroying himself while at the same time trying to live a life of purpose and destiny

It is therefore a wise decision to search...
