Appreciating Beethoven

Last July 16 , 2009 at the Walt Disney Concert Hall , Hollywood Bowl another astonishing set of performances took place . It was the Bravo Beethoven ! with the Los Angeles Philharmonic . The performers were obviously the Los Angeles Philharmonic , conductor Bramwell Tovey and British pianist Paul Lewis

The event was featured under the Classical Thursdays program of the Hollywood Bowl , hence that night was the rendition of German pianist and composer Ludwig van Beethoven 's compositions . The artists performed his classical

pieces including Egmont , Piano Concerto No . 2 .and Symphony No 2

According to the Los Angeles Times , famous pianist Paul Lewis plays Beethoven 's pieces best , earning the Gramophone 's Record of the Year for playing Beethoven 's music . With this , he was extremely apt for the event

Piano Concerto No . 2

The performance I liked best was the Piano Concerto No . 2 as performed by Paul Lewis . It was composed by Beethoven in 1787 to 1789 and was published in 1801 , the same time the Piano Concerto No . 1 was published During those times , Beethoven was still a young musician trying to make a name and music that people would love . From moving to Bonn to Vienna he established himself as a soloist through performing this piece in private salons and concerts
