I am optimistic regarding the developments of emerging technologies that simulate human behavior like artificial intelligence , expert systems or virtual machines . To me these are inevitable phenomenon that is part of human evolution to extend beyond the human body itself . Human behavior like simulations allows the human brain to extend the dimension where it applies . Like any technology , there will always be a good and bad aspect regarding its results or applications . The bad

results or applications will produce apprehensions to others . On the other hand , it is the duty of every interested human being to further improve and enhance these emerging technologies for the good intentions

With the present phase of technological advancement , which seems to follow Moore 's law , that the speed or capacity of transistor based electronics doubles every 24 months , the possibilities of artificial intelligence , expert systems or virtual machines are limitless

In fact , there are plenty of software available in the market that would allow a PC with microphone to automatically translate voice into words . Expert system has benefited almost every areas of business including medicine . A good example of this application in medicine is the expert system developed by Stanford University named Mycin . Virtual reality allows somebody to get a realistic experience of flying high above the ground through a simulator that simulates visual experience .
