We live in times of technology . Most of the work that was done traditionally is now equipped with technological assistance to obtain efficiency and effectiveness . The prevalence of technology is most apparent in communication and information management . Multinational corporations are using sophisticated and complicated technological instruments to design advanced communication and information systems that will help them save them millions from operational and administrative activities each financial period . However , the effect of

Lately , the social effect of information technology , or in the broader sense of the term , computer-mediated communication (CMC , has become increasingly undeniable . CMC is not only used for business necessities but also for `less serious ' activities in the social atmosphere . People as young as 12 year olds are now practicing CMC in their social environment to maintain relationship with their friends and families Despite these apparent impacts of CMC in the social atmosphere , studies regarding how CMC change the social relationship of human beings in the modern society has been few in numbers . There are only few discussions on how CMC really affected the development of new social trends , the tendencies of how people communicate to each other , the frequency of social interactions , etc

Within this I am discussing how human beings all over the globe are affected by the prevalence of CMC in their environment . The will first discuss the social position of CMC in the global community Secondly , the will focus on the differences between CMC and traditional face-to-face communication . Third , I will address the benefits that rise from the use of CMC and the issues and risks that accompany them
