The Enlightenment period was an age marked by a lot of scientific revolutions . It was a period where certain philosophers who felt that they were already enlightened thought of enlightening the other people basing their concepts on human reason . Since it was a time when the Catholic Church had fastened in growth , they brought out the idea of reasoning with faith to achieve truth . It was as a result

of this that other philosophers came up in defense for or against the period such as Thomas Aquinas

The Period of Enlightenment

The Enlightenment is a period or age that is usually associated with the 18th century . It 's a historical movement where earlier thinkers who supposedly thought themselves as more enlightened than others embarked on enlightening people . Those thinkers were mostly from London and Paris . They believed on human reason and that it would be used to break away ignorance , superstition and tyranny and thereby build a better world . They targeted mostly on religion in the Catholic Church and also dominant aristocracy in the society
