Compare and contrast learning theories
Running Lead : LEARNING THEORIES Learning Theories Q1 . Compare and contrast the theories reviewed thus far in the course In Behaviorism , learning could only be considered to have occurred if there is an objectively verifiable change in behavior of an individual Behaviorism does not take into consideration the internal thought processes that occurs within the individual . This is in clear contrast with Cognitivism which mainly concentrates on inner physiological process that occurs when an individual is learning . Cognitivists consider the brain 's system of filing and sorting information as an important

aspect on how an individual learns . While Cognitivism focuses on the physiology of an individual , Construtivism is highly dependent on the personal endeavor of the learner to construct new ideas founded on their own intrinsic knowledge and experience . In Constructivism , the teacher 's primary role is to usher the learners to self-discovery of new concepts and ideas
Q2 . What elements of the theories do you feel with assist you in developing your own instructional design and delivery approach
Personally , I find inquiry-based instruction more constructive for adults , especially those who feel that they already know enough . This Constructivist learning system is less threatening to adult learners as they are focused on what their own personal knowledge and experience can contribute to the learning of the group . They are not passive learners rather they are active in generating new ideas and concepts
Q3 . Discuss how you will integrate theory , and specific strategies derived from theories into the instructional systems in your current organization
The constructivism learning process could be applied in focus group discussions . These focus group discussions could be utilized to further improve the organization . In example , an FGD could be an avenue for people to voice out their new concepts and ideas to improve the organization . Also , FGD could be a means where people could come together and discuss the best practices of the organization , how to adapt these practices all throughout the business process and suggests ways to further enhance current practices
