and Africa are quite distinct and unique in nature . Each culture has its own traditions , which are developed and flourished natively with out any foreign influence . But despite all these unique characteristics there are some similarities in the Afro-Eurasian region which are quite universal between the cultures of three continents since the ancient time . There are different factors , which have participated in the spread of these traditions and knowledge throughout the old world in the past millennia . Among these factors trade is the most important factor , which has played a pivotal role in the exchange of knowledge and wisdom . Silk Road is one of the most well known trading routes of the antiquity and it has played an important role in not only exchange of goods and commodities in the ancient times , but also it has played a pivotal role as a medium of exchange of knowledge , technology , culture and religion Though today the exchange of knowledge and ideas between faraway cultures and nations is as easy as exchanging your thoughts and concerns with your neighbor , but it was also a common practice of the ancient times . Throughout the ancient history we see that the traders from China , India , Central Asia , Middle East and Europe all meet at the crossroads on the Silk Road there they not only exchange different goods and commodities , but also different ideas , customs and values

Speaking about the exchange of knowledge , gunpowder and are two most important commodities both were originally developed in China and these technologies later spread across the globe . The main reason that and gunpowder are now both universally available is the Silk Road trade . The traders of India , Central Asia , and Middle East not only brought these products as an exchange of trade , but they also bring with them the knowledge and technology required for their production .
