Police officers and community members can take certain actions to employ the CPTED system and aim to prevent crime in their areas , such as the design and management of the local areas , increasing public safety by putting more officers onto the street in a visible presence . This analysis is another key tool available to police officers and community members to try and reduce crime and the fear of crime in certain problem areas
