Introduction

The cold war originated from the dispute between the Soviet Union and the United States of America over Poland . The Americans accused the Russians of violating the Yalta agreement that was signed between the allied powers and the Soviet Union . The cold war was more of an ideological war as opposed to a direct military confrontation . The cold war creation an extended tension almost in the whole world as it was fought almost in all

the constituencies . The main cause of the outbreak is believed to be the violation of the Yalta agreement . In this essay my main focus will be to analyze both the views of Gaddis and continents . The two world powers used atomic bomb threats something that caused intense fears in the whole world especially after the bombing of the Japanese cities by the Americans during the Second World War period They offered competing ideas where each tried to outdo the other

Cold War and the Polish Issue

After the cold war over , the world entered into another situation but not as violent as it was during the world wars period . This period resulted after the three nations that is United States , France and Britain met and signed the Yalta agreement but they failed to keep the promises they made (Smith F E . 2001 ) There were no direct physical attacks that went on but this was an ideological warfare . The issue of Eastern Europe nations and democracy greatly contributed to the cold war outbreak and especially in Poland , Bulgaria , Romania , Hungary Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia (Klaus , L . 2002 112-114

These nations were in the spheres of the Soviet Union that was advocating for a strong central government in these nations but the allied forces wanted these nations to be independent . Joseph Stalin saw this as an attempt to gag the spread of their influence in these regions a move that they were ready to resist . This was not what they had agreed diring the Yalta conference . The agreement was that though Poland Bulgaria Hungary and Czechoslovakia were under the leadership of the Soviet Union , they would be allowed to conduct free and fair election without facing external pressure from the Soviets . The Soviet wanted Poland to be way they treated them during the Bolsheviks revolution of 1920s . Stalin feared that Poland might be tempted to launch another war against the Soviet but this was not true as they had lost a lot during these wars as they were the most targeted by the central powers (Klaus , L . 2002 112-114

The Americans saw this as a spread of dictatorship , which was a threat to their principle of democracy and Stalin behaviors were giving the Americans a reason to worry about what Russia was doing . Breach of agreement by the Soviet could be blamed for the war outbreak . Here Stalin wanted to protect the relationship that he has created between his country and Poland .
