Should The Cigarettes Smoking be banned as heroin Consumption

Cigarette Smoking

As human beings , we have our preferences . These preferences make up what we do , how we behave and reflected on our habits . Man has the choice to make and unlike other animals , man has the ability to decide what he wants and how he would live . These choices /preferences add up to make who we are , our taste and what we consider pleasurable

In America today , 1 out of every 5 deaths has been attributed to cigarette smoking - an acquired behavior . Although statistics has shows that cigarette smoking accounts for

about 440 000 deaths of the 2 .4 million deaths that occur every year , it is also the most avoidable cause of premature death in our society . This is because it is what people have a choice in . Generally , tobacco smoking is not imposed on one and it is not genetic . It is what you choose or choose not to do

In addition to this , an extra 22 .3 of high school student were found to be smokers in a statistic that was carried out in 2004 while middle school smokers were 8 .1 (www .cancer .org . The effect of this is that we have more people smoking in our society than ever before and given the health hazards that come with it , the future of this country could well be at risk . Facing the real issues , the truth is that smoking has not reduced in our society . Instead of reducing , it is not a strange thing to see young children trying out smoking . The question here is if we are going to fold our arms and watch this future of our kids and our nation

In recent time , we have seen and heard leaders of this country openly talk about cigarette smoking and the effect it has on the person and the country . As of today , several states have enacted laws that prohibit public smoking . This , as I think is a way to start the battle of banning smoking in our society . Although such laws has been /kicked against by civil rights agencies , what they fail to see is that cigarette smoking is beyond the individual with the cigarette stick in the corners of his /her mouth . More than they can realize , cigarette smoking is an act that has tortured the society , depriving it of its citizen - the people who could have contributed immeasurably to the growth and development of the society . On this basis I build my argument and this is the fact that cigarette smoking should be banned as heroine smoking

Civil rights activists have claimed...
