Church and State

In the past years the church and the state synonymously work together to form a community of people harmoniously living , but in the end it all end up having a disagreement between the church and the state . We define religion as an organization of faith and worship , while state is a politically organized society

In the past period , may it be ancient or colonization time the church and state would be seen working together as one . The church would be the one to unite and utilize the people while the state would provide

them with rules and guidance for them to be disciplined . In fact in the Spanish colonization , the state uses the church for them to reach and penetrate the people , spreading the religion would let the people follow and obey them at the same time . Most of the empires in the ancient period were able to use religion well in cases like conquering a land or people . The problem arises between the church and the state is because of the tradition of western Christianity , it was due to the power extent within each others realm of activity , each one would interfere with one 's doing and use of power which lead to a power hunger leader . In the Western empire , the church and the state did not go well together because of the proclamation of Pope Innocent III that the state is a subordinate of the church because the church were able to control the works and plans of a king or authority , this lead to a disagreement between the two powers

The church and the state are separated because each one wants to accumulate more power than the other at times it is because of the wealth that one can have . One example would be in the reign of King Louis XIV when the pope tried to take over his throne , he tried to kill the king and take over but he never succeeded and because of this , the gap is bigger and no one in the position trusted any religious man . It was also hard for the priest to clean the bad reputation they have to other people it was a hard time to reconcile what happened

The separation of the church and state was initiated by Pope Gregory a man of holiness , it started when King Henry IV was not able to obtain church leadership because it was denied by Gregory , and this battle is called the Investiture Controversy were the ideas of the separation begun . The boundaries of each other 's power are divided the church is for the cleansing of the soul and the spiritual growth while the state is to look after the well-being of its people and to guide them with rules .
