Christianity has been established , developed and grown with countless failures and triumphs . Like other widespread religions , especially Islam , Christianity also went through persecutions , divisions and mockery but had won and survived the tests of times . Christianity has been so far the largest religion in the world with around 26 billion adherents worldwide as per mid-2005 survey1 . It is to be noted that the figure includes only those who have Christian church memberships which means those who are listed

in the church rolls and does not include those who just profess Christianity as their religion . This figure also does not include one billion Roman Catholic adherents

It is well established with Christians that the true founder of the Christian church is the only Jesus Christ who was born , died , buried and resurrected ' Like Islam , Christianity also has diverse sects and denominations although the religion rooted only from Jesus Christ and His teachings . Christian religion is distinct for the doctrines of the Virgin Birth of Christ , The Incarnation , The Crucifixion , Resurrection the Trinity of God and the Ten Commandments . The Holy Bible , although have been questioned for its authenticity and historical truth , have been the only source of the central teachings of Christianity . This will provide an overview of the life of Jesus Christ and his major teachings in for the readers to have a starting point on the birth , development and spread of Christianity

The humble beginnings of the Christian Religion can be traced from the angelic profession of the virgin birth of Jesus who will become the Savior of the world .
