Introduction

Christianity is a monotheistic religion with its teachings based on Jesus Christ . All teachings on Christianity are to be found in the New Testament in the bible . According to the Hebrew Scriptures , Christians believe that Jesus is the Son of God and the prophesized Messiah Christians believe that Christ came on Earth , suffered , died and was resurrected in to deliver the entire mankind from sin . According to them , Jesus will come back to proclaim judgment to al mankind , both living and dead and give everlasting life to His followers

and eternal damnation to sinners . To many Christians , Jesus is considered as the role model for moral and spiritual life which each Christian should strive to imitate

Christian Belief

The cornerstone to Christian faith is the belief in Jesus as the Messiah and Son of God . They believe that He was anointed by God as savior and ruler of mankind and His coming to earth was the fulfillment of the prophesies as propounded in the Old Testament . The gist of Christian faith is that , through the death and resurrection of Jesus , humans can have hope of everlasting life and be reconciled to God

According to the New Testament books of Mathew and Luke , Christ was conceived by the Holy Ghost and born from the Virgin Mary . The Biblical accounts of Jesus ' ministry include his baptism , preaching , teaching and miracles
