There are two distinct species common chimpanzee also called (pan troglodytes ) and the pygmy chimpanzee also called the Bonobo (pan paniscus . They are mostly found in regions in central Africa and some parts of Western Africa . The Bonobo species are referred to as pan paniscus are mostly found in the Democratic Republic of Congo . Bonobo has characteristics equally resembling that of human beings
The Bonobo chimpanzee is an endangered species since it is discovery by Ernst Scha-warz , an atomist from Germany in 1929 . The Bonobo have longer legs than other species , it has small head . Its face is black with pink lips , its ears are small and its head has long hair . The female species breasts are prominent and not flat chested like the females of the other species
In its movements the Bonobo is capable of walking in an upright position for quite sometime just like human beings . The chimpanzee psychological characteristic is closely associated with human attributes like showing kindness , being patient offering the companionship . The male chimpanzees have been observed to be more hostile to the other males belonging to different communities . The male chimpanzee is capable of attacking another male . The Bonobo chimpanzee 's shows different forms of behaviours where male and female show relations that are more sexually oriented unlike the other species (Diamond , 2003
In their habitation the Bonobo chimpanzee occupies areas , which are different from the other chimpanzees , mostly in the side of the Congo River . They inhabit areas that are vegetative in their natural form where they live peacefully in large families . The female forms the largest members of the Bonobo chimpanzee family , sexual relation occupies a very important position in the Bonobo species
The Bonobo chimpanzee maintains sexual relationship within the family it also extends it outside the community . These sexual relations involve the older members and also the young generations but it excludes female adults with their sons . When food is in its abundance the Bonobo engages in sexual relations that involve all the members of the family
The Bonobo have a lower rate of reproduction compared to the other chimpanzee species . The female has the ability of bearing a young one within the period of four to six years . This suggestion is however refuted by some...
