This activity (children observation ) was done in a ready set school class ' of 12 toddlers (6 boys and 8 girls , ages 2 to 4 years old There were two preschool teachers in the class and I was observing the class for about an hour

Number and Operation

The student noted and observed to exhibit this math behavior was a 3 year old girl . She

was counting the books in the shelf . She was able to count from 1 to 10 correctly . While she was counting , she was looking at her fingers as well . This particular girl already knows that any number added by zero will be that number itself (Example , 1 0 1 , 2 0 2 3 0 3 and so on and so fort . She was displaying this math skill after she counted the books in the shelf . For me , in any kids activities , math skills should be incorporated to enhance their math learning skills

Patterns , Functions and Algebra

The student noted and observed to exhibit this math behavior was a four year old boy . This time , this little boy knows how to count 2 , 4 , 6 , 8 .20 and 3 , 6 , 9 ,12 .30 .
