In fact more often , kids would rather be interested in watching TV shows and infomercials rather than listen to their parents or prioritize schoolwork . This is due to the fact that for decades , TV media has been exercising absolute power in dictating what is ``updated ' when it comes to fashion trends , music , etc . and other things that address a teenager 's need as he /she undergoes this personal stage regardless if they are appropriate or inappropriate . To add more to this influence , many business sectors have taken and is still taking advantage of TV media in promoting their products or services with teenage groups as one of their targets as they compose the majority of potential customers . Many businessmen have earned more than millions from teenage allowance . One of the main issues that teenagers go through is acquiring their own identity . This is a constant trial and error process and with their immature minds , they would struggle to search for ways in addressing this particular need . One of the more likely scenarios is that they would want to belong to a certain group who would accept them and it is through TV sometimes that they would find information on how to be ``cool ' as many teenagers often put it . Sometimes peer pressure becomes so intense that any form of rejection would be too hard for a teenager to handle . This is where TV celebrities or so called ``idols ' would come in to save the day for them . As teenagers are vulnerable to issues like boosting their self image , their usual tendency would be to turn to these celebrities who are very much able to afford the latest in fashion and other things that has got to do with appearance . This reality is very much inevitable that teenagers and adults alike have considered it as a way in strengthening their attractive characteristics so as to make their day-to-day living somewhat more enjoyable . Modern TV Shows and TV Stars : A Preview and Reflection on their Private Lives as exposed by Media Fashion tips , movies , music , and the desire to look physically beautiful are some of the main reasons why teenagers tend to look up to their celebrity idols . Among these four however , the latter is very crucial . Three of the most popular names in Hollywood nowadays have been Paris Hilton , Nicole Richie , and Britney Spears . Although Nicole Richie has been making a different turn since the birth of her first baby , these teenage celebrities used to share another one thing in common : frail and skinny bodies with their bones sticking out (How Celebrities Influence Teenagers .
