The civil war waged at Sierra Leone was fought more because of economic gains than it was because of differences in ideologies . theless , it was not the usually war recorded in history . It caused countless lives counting as well children , who themselves played a major part in battle as soldiers . These children were robbed of their youth as poverty among other things compelled them

to engage in a war that would require them to risk their lives and their future altogether

Children are supposed to be enjoying life to the fullest , dreaming dreams , and concerning not themselves about the difficulties of existence . Yet this is not always the case . In some parts of the world , particularly in countries torn by battle , wars are waged by children , the one who are least likely to carry the burden violent behavior (Beah , 2007 . There children never knew the world to be a better place . Before they could very well form their thoughts , they have cost the lives of casualties and opponents alike as they have find themselves holding the other end of a gun as they serve to live the life they know to be the only recourse for survival
