Predictive testing , for example , sees if the person possesses the mutant gene and predicts the future of the person such as the possible age that he will suffer from the disease . However , there is a possibility that the test can yield to either a false positive or a

br false negative , either of which are not particularly helpful . On the contrary , these false ' results can potentially harm the patient in the form of wrong decisions when seeking medical advice . As a genetic counselor , it is in my professional belief that the patient ought to seek genetic testing as soon as possible so that the patient can immediately identify his chances of having the disease and what can be done as soon as possible . Although there can be false positive or false negative results , repeat tests can be made to ensure the certainty of the genetic testing measures
As a person developing Huntington 's disease , I feel that there are very little measures that can be made in to help lessen the effects of the fatal disease .
