There are victims who suffered physical abuse or the infliction of physical injury resulting from beating , kicking , biting , burning , and many other means of harming a child . Another is neglect or the failure of providing the child with all the basic physical , educational or emotional needs . A third kind is emotional abuse which includes acts or omissions by guardians that may result to major behavioural , cognitive , emotional , or mental disarray . Last but not least , is sexual abuse or the abuse that includes fondling a child 's genitals , intercourse , rape , and any kind o sexual act which a child should not be exposed to (Wolfe , 1999
