There have been of late concerns about the quality of education in the US and especially in regard to secondary and primary education . These concerns led to the enactment of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 which was aimed at resolving the falling standards of education in the US . This analyses the NCLB act pointing out the impacts associated with the act , the challenges the act faces and the addresses the issues

of whether the question has so far been a success or failure , s well as the necessary measures needed to make sure tat the NCLB act meets its goals

Nichols , et al (2005 ) notes , majority of educational reforms in the US in the few last decades have been aimed at resolving social problems and improving the negative perception of the current education system . With the implementation of the NCLB act the government aims to address the following issues

Improving educational standards generally perceived to be below those of the developed countries

To align the curriculum design to the needs of the learners and fund the curriculum

To enable more students to access education

To improve performance of learners in reading skills and math

The NCCB law is aimed at making sure that by end of 2014 every American child shall posses ' good accounting skills . Implementation of Education reforms have seen the rise of students achievement as well as a drastic reduction in the performance gap between children of different racial backgrounds such as the gap between Africa-Americans and white children as well as the gap between Hispanic and white children

The `no child left behind Act ' aims at ensuring more returns for all investment costs made in education . The NCCB was designed to address the needs of the marginalized groups such as children with special needs children form rural areas in the US , as well as children from the inner cities . The No Child Left Behind (NCLB ) act of 2001 was initiated as a response to the declining educational standards in the US especially in the primary and secondary levels . The outcry about falling educational standards has also been caused by reports indicating that the proficiency of the average American child especially on accounting skills

The act seeks to increase the educational standards in the US primary and secondary in all school districts and state schools . The act is aimed at increasing the choice of parents over the kind of schools they prefer their children to attend this is done in the belief that parental choice of school is important in determining the academic performance of their children (Kim Gail , 2004 . The act provides for stratification of the learners based on of proficiency levels in line with the rules and standards set forth by the state education official .
