While I read the accounts and experiences of Dr . Temple Grandin , I was inspired and astonished by the progress of an autistic child into a more matured human being . I was very surprised that there are cases of development of autism despite public opinions on impossibilities that were sometimes generalized . Beginning with the visualization of pictures , which is the basis of thinking patterns of autistic dis in converting abstract ideas as

a way to understand the process . Dr Grandin confronted a very huge trial when changes came from secondary school to college . Departing high school was difficult for her and she was able to practice each stage by stepping through a real door , gate or window to overcome the memories . Doors and gates are the symbols of each transition of her life . Pictures of doors and gates are big impact with her imagination since it has a different meaning and enable her to move on to the next level . Visual styles of thinking is the only way she can understand words , and also visualizes verbs like the word jumping is associated with the jumping hurdles at the mock Olympics during her elementary days (Grandin . Words such as over ' and under ' had no meaning with Dr . Grandin but was visualized as getting under the cafeteria table at school when there are drills of air-raid (Grandin . I also learned that autistic children will grasp the meaning of letters if those letters are cut out and then they can hold or touch the object Normal people are used to words and are completely verbal in thinking Dr . Grandin always formed new visual images when inventing new equipment or think of something work of fiction and entertaining . I thought that autistic children would no longer adopt the usual experiences of normal people , it is very inspiring that they can do a lot for the progress of our society and they can share technologies that they can only understand . Like Dr . Grandin , she was able to solve designed problem and experimenting with new kinds of kites and model airplanes . Every solution she conceptualized , she would test-run the equipment in her imagination . She acquired a video of equipment she used like steel gates , tangible walls , fasteners , railings , and other device . In creating new designs , she would recover odds and ends from her memory and combine them into a new complete system . Visual thinkers think in photographically specific images , music and math thinkers think in patterns , and verbal logic thinkers think in word details . Through this kind of thinking , one could see that each individual who possess each thinking styles can deliver and share knowledge for the development of technologies
