The issue of population size has always been an important subject all over the world since the balance between man , animals and the environment relies on the existence of a sustainable and manageable population . In this regard there are several factors that influence the population size of both humans and animals with some being natural while others are initiated and controlled by man . In my opinion there are four factors that are dominant

in affecting population size and their study becomes important if we are to win the battle for environmental conservation and peaceful coexistence between these three elements These factors include birth and death rates , immigration and emigrations , food availability and human activities . However , these factors do not always act independently of each other and it is common for more than one factor to act simultaneously causing a large effect on the population size of particular specie

The nutria is a small mammal that is important due its fur . However the herbivorous animal eats rapidly and with its capability to beget several babies can soon lay bare a large tract of land leaving behind only water . The wildlife director (2007 ) asserts that its short gestation period and peculiar eating habits leads the nutria with only the option of moving on to new grounds in search of food . Nutria population was introduced in Louisiana in the 1930 though it is not clear whether such actions...
